For more than 1 ½ decades I’ve been living in Berlin, and belong to the huge group of citizens who call Germany’s capital their home. During all these years, the city has been under construction. Walking around you'll see jewels of architecture from previous centuries, time-worn facades still showing the gun holes from World War II, “Plattenbauten” as relics of socialist aesthetics, beautiful old buildings and modern housing estates. In between cranes and roads under construction, there are, fortunately, numerous trees, which contribute to the beauty of the city and create a cosy atmosphere especially during the warmer seasons. Berlin – ancient and new, Berlin – a city that’s constantly changing. I try to express this synchronicity in my work, always changing the point of view, varying the focus of subjects that catch my attention: cupolas and roofs, streets and plazas, towers and cranes.
